For years I have avoided exercise like the plague. Afraid that if I start it will be infectious and will be like a horrible disease getting into my system that I won't be able to stop. Or, the truth. That I am just so unfit as I stand here today that I just don't want people to see me trying to run, or cycle, a distance that might just about get me to the end of my street!
Let's be honest though. Who actually wants to see someone pretend like they are fit enough to undertake a 455 mile bike over a week in just over three months time? But then again who is really concentrating on others when they are in the gym in the first place?!
This seems to be less of a fear of going to the gym, just a massive bout of laziness! Not particularly inspiring I know but as the #biketour seems so far away I just find that being relaxed is a nicer way to deal with it. I know that this will change in the next 3 weeks once Nick returns but until then I think it will be feet up, TV on and a little bit of 'study' on the side.
(Of course by study, I mean research into gyms and classes around the London area in preparation for his return- honest!)
There is another way though... If you guys can help pull me out of this lull by getting our Just Giving fund up to £150 by Saturday I will go cycling on Sunday and join a spinning class for the next two weeks (and actually attend them!) ready for Nick's return! How does that sound?
So really guys it is down to you! You can get this horribly unfit and lazy woman into a gym earlier than she wanted by donating just a couple of pounds each. Plus you would be donating money to a great cause and supporting an epic challenge!
It's now up to you to #GetFenFit
I am looking forward to, and dreading, seeing how this goes! www.justgiving.com/tourtothetower
Thanks!
Fena :)
P.S. I forgot to give you the exciting update of the week. Our BUSINESS CARDS have arrived!!!! 1000 of them! Now i need to start working out to hand them all out!
